A project aimed at developing local and national products in the field of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, conducted under the protocol between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Marmara University, has been completed. The project's outcomes were announced to the public and made available for open access by the Ministry in December.
The project included the preparation of three distinct project reports focusing on the technical requirements and features of Connected Vehicles, V2X communication, and Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS). Marmara University's VeNIT Lab, which conducted the first field applications in Turkey in this area, had its application examples and experiences recognized as some of the best practices.
The project and related reports were carried out by VeNIT Lab personnel under the direction of VeNIT Lab Director Doç. Dr. Müjdat Soytürk. The project defined the technical infrastructure features required for Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems, Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Applications, and in-vehicle information and communication systems using cellular and wireless communication technologies. The reports included relevant standards and application examples.
